Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Family, Friends & community is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and their families whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS and other life threatening illnesses.
FF&C's main objective is to give honor and dignity to those who experience losses. We provide services at no cost or judgment and provide a safety net for individuals who fall through the cracks. Our goal is to make a difference in the quality of life.
The Family, Friends & Community Foundation began in 1985 when a group of business professionals came together to provide holiday gifts and meals to families in need. We served 150 children and their families in that first year, and have since built a number of successful programs around that concept. In recent years, Family, Friends & Community (FF&C) has increasingly concentrated its efforts and programs on helping children and their families with HIV/AIDS and other at-risk children.
The Kidâ s Back-to-School Event is an annual event. Children shop for back-to-school clothes and supplies at no cost to them. The idea for the store came about at Christmas time when these children asked Santa for coats. The goals of our event are to provide each child with a warm coat in September instead of December, to have the children ready to learn the first day of school, and to level the playing field by placing these children on even footing with their peers. We believe that having school supplies and new clothing helps build a childâ s sense of self-worth. Children with self-esteem create positive long-term ramifications for our community.
The Holiday Adopt-a-Family is the original program created in 1985. Outside Agencies refer families to FF&C. The families in need receive clothing and toys chosen to meet their needs. Gift certificates from local grocery stores are included for their holiday dinner.
