Description

After unsuccessful surgery in 1988 left him a quadrapelegic, Jerry Segal was fortunate to come through the doors of Magee, which he credits to this date for his ability to enjoy a full life, including still playing golf. The Friends of Jerry Segal got together to give back to Magee via the Jerry Segal Golf Classic to benefit the patients of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. With a grfreat deal of volunteer activity and work the Classic has grown each and every year. The 16th annual Classic held Sept 30, 2005 pushed the total amount of money raised over the $5 million mark during the event's 16-year history. The funds help create and enhance programs and services for individuals with spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputation, and other impairments at Magee.
