Mission Statement

The Atlanta Telecom Professionals (ATP) is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of providing an environment for networking, the exchange of important industry information, and the recognition of excellence within the Atlanta telecom community. ATP exists to meet the professional development and networking needs of its members - telecom, cable, and Internet professionals in Atlanta and Southeastern United States

Description

ATP hosts monthly events on the second Tuesday of each month. These have covered a variety of telecom-related issues. In 2004 event topics included VoIP, Wireless, Information Security, The Telecom Lifecycle, Buying and Selling Telecom from the Experts and an event on the 'State of the Industry' from a Venture Capital perspective. Typically, topics are covered by a panel of experts. We have been honored to have featured some of the most renowned telecom experts in the community, including Abe Kani, CIO of the City of Atlanta, Mike Adkinson, Editor in Chief of TechLINKS, Ron Hutchins, CTO and Vice Provost of Georgia Tech, and telecom representatives from top Fortune companies such as Coca-Cola Enterprises, Home Depot, Equifax, Agilent, and BellSouth. ATP is starting yet another new Atlanta telecom tradition with the creation of the Atlanta Telecom Professionals Golf Tournament. This year, the event will be on Thursday, May 26th at the beautiful St. Marlo Country Club and ATP will be donating a portion of the proceeds to Southern Polytechnic State University's Telecom Engineering program
