Mission Statement
<> Over 50,000 seniors live below poverty level in San Diego County. These brave, needy senior citizens fought our wars, paid taxes and handed down a legacy of freedom, hope and opportunity. We cannot let them suffer in their fragile seniors years. We provide "Senior Food-for-a-Week" Emergency Food Boxes FREE the 3rd week of the month for seniors whose income is $985 or less per month. This sustains them until their next Social Security check arrives . . . most of these seniors much choose between purchasing food and medicine each month. Our food boxes are distributed to seniors who have signed up and qualify at participating Senior Centers, Salvation Army sites and pantry programs. See our website for a list of distribution sites.
Description
The Angel's Depot initiates food drives, food box packing dates for our nutritious, nonperishable "Senior Food-for-a-Week" Emergency Food Boxes. These food boxes contain 21 meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner for a full week. Each food box is packed by a volunteer. See our website for further information on our current needs: http://www.theangelsdepot.org
