Mission Statement

Lean On Me, Inc. (LOMI), founded in 1998 was established to provide a safe and secure environment for two parent homeless families who want to and are capable of becoming financially independent and self sustaining. Min. Shaun & wife Katrina Golden, founders of Lean On Me, Inc., saw where there were shelters for men and shelters for women and children, but none (or very few) where the family could stay together while going through this crisis of being homeless. Shaun & Katrina felt it was essential to the well being of the family that they stay together in order to make it through this crisis. We provide a stable home while providing job search skills, life skills and financial planning so that the families will have a firm foundation on which to build once they leave our program. We also provide disaster relief to those that have been devastated by emergencies such as hurricanes and floods.

Description

Lean On Me, Inc. is a non profit organization that provides transitional housing for homeless families and structured help to keep them from returning to a state of homelessness. LOMI is also playing a vital role in the rebuilding in New Orleans.

With the help of LOMI volunteers from all over the world we have accumulating over 4500 volunteer hours and counting.
