Provide scholarships and educational support to our local students positioning them to lead successful and impactful lives in their chosen communities

Description

A celebration of Community! This festival is hosted by Pig on the Pond, Inc. to provide money for educational and scholarship programs in South Lake County. "For the Kids"

The highlight of the event is the Florida Barbecue Association Sanctioned Barbecue Competition, featuring cook-teams from around the country grilling for awards and the chance to compete for the 2014 State Championship.

Th ere are a host of other activities for the entire family to enjoy. There's a Carnival and midway, music and entertainment, a Chili Challenge and Dessert Bake-off.

Some 25 local non-profit organizations conduct fundraising efforts at the Waterfront Park with approximately 60 sponsors providing much-needed financial support for the event and the children of our community.

Attendance has averaged 27,000 people at the event and the organizations have raised over $700,000 since 2003 for educational & scholarship programs for the South Lake community.
