Mission Statement

Providing the solution of aligning social and community programs with those in need, Become serves as the necessary nexus for today’s environment of community activism and progress. Rigiorous research has shown that when community service organizations work well and in concert with each other, synergy happens and people and communities are transformed. Become does just that. Through thoroughly thoughtful programming as well as comprehensive consultative action plans, Become offers solutions for community chartered organizations throughout Chicago and surrounding areas.

Description

Become believes that even though marginalized communities may face deep struggle, they also have profound resilience and resources with much potential. We work to build thriving communities by inspiring and synergizing the people and institutions in communities. We work with those resources to improve their effectiveness and bring them together for greater impact. We offer Dynamic Evaluation, which builds the capacity of both the community members and organizations to assess and improve themselves. This evaluation is a process of coming together, learning, and amplifying the impact of programs, organizations, and leaders. We bring people and organizations together in coalitions to more strongly advocate for themselves and build social cohesion for a vibrant and thriving community.
