Mission Statement

In the interest of promoting responsible citizenship, the Senior Computer Center of Santa Cruz has been formed to provide seniors (i.e., those 55 years and older) in the Santa Cruz community with affordable access to computer-related skills, information and technology, and to assist seniors to share knowledge and wisdom with each other and with members of associations of similar nature in other communities.

Description

Activities include teaching and learning computer skills, providing access to computers and related peripherals, and facilitating the exchange of information and resources among members. The program is overseen by a staff member and the bulk of the work is performed by volunteers. Those tasks include teaching classes, Mac and PC, monitoring the computer lab during open lab, conducting Special Interest Groups, assist in maintenance of the equipment, clerical work and other tasks as they arise.
