Conservation Minnesota works to protect the land, lakes, and way of life in Minnesota through innovative approaches to citizen engagement, public policy campaigns, creating coalitions, and elections.
Our programs are a diverse package of forward thinking efforts that make a large and measurable difference in conservation. Our government conducts over 95% of all conservation efforts - meaning that citizens, business, and advocates need to have the ability to easily affect decisions made by their elected officials. Therefore, we have designed a complete package that approaches conservation from all angles - by engaging and educating citizens; empowering organizations, coalitions, and individuals in their own work with our professional campaigns and tools; and by holding government accountable for policy decisions. Our new approach to conservation engages unusual partners from business, government, religious, health care, hunt and fish organizations, and all political parties. This method provides our organization and many others with the credibility and clout to make a large impact.
