Description

Beloved Community Family Services, Inc. (BCFS) is a 501 C-3 not-for-profit, community- based organization, founded in August 2004 by Rev. Bobby L. Rush, with a mission to provide a network of compassionate services to promote cultural, economic, and social well- being specifically for residents of the Englewood and West Englewood communities. BCFS currently provides services in the area of Health Prevention & Education, Youth Services, and Community Corrections and Interventions.

The "beloved community" is Dr. Martin Luther King's metaphoric vision of God's kingdom on earth. Rev. Rush has embraced this vision by deciding to rid society of social leprosy, particularly in the Englewood and West Englewood communities. The organization is funded by the Illinois State Board of Education, Black United Fund of Illinois, and Illinois Department of Public Health.
