Mission Statement
Our Mission:
OLHSA emables the low income, elderly and disabled persons living in Oakland and Livingston Counties to become more self-sufficient.
Our Vision:
OLHSA will be the voice for social change that diminishes the causes and effects of poverty and empowers individuals and families to become self-sufficient.
Description
OLHSA works with people every day, providing them a service to help them out of poverty and on to self-sufficiency.
OLHSA operates two USDA food programs, the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) that distributes food once a month to residents that qualify, that includes senior citizens, mother, infants and children and families.
We are a small agency with only one staff member. We cannot operate these programs without volunteers at all levels of the programs.
