Emily's Pad pet rescue is established as a 501 c 3 non-profit located on 217 Obispo Ave. Cayucos, CA 93430. It consists of a board of directors, a managing director, and volunteers.
I want to inform you about our "DO THE KINDEST THINGS IN THE KINDEST WAYS" campaign.
Approximately 5 million companion animals are euthanized in the United States each year because there is not enough room in shelters.Any homeless animal tugs at my heart, but I feel good knowing that there are more and more pet rescues coming about to lower the above statistic and help these dear creatures. However, this is not as much the case with homeless Special Needs animals. The elderly, diseased or disabled dogs and cats usually do not have a chance because they are considered non-adoptable and thus are euthanized, even when thay still have quality of life. That is why I started Emily's Pad Inc., a non-profit pet rescue focusing on Special Needs animals. I have been running my rescue through my home, but I have no room to expand. This is why my 501 (c) (3) non-profit is launching "DO THE KINDEST THINGS IN THE KINDEST WAYS" campaign to build a state-of-the-art facility to house these Special Needs animals. Some will eventually get adopted, but for those that don't, Emily's Pad will be their FOREVER HOME.
Many of these animals were once someone's pet, but because of an ailment they were discarded. I find that to be such a tragedy. Special needs animals are a part of our community. They need to be treated with love and respect. Emily's Pad will give them just that.
