Mission Statement

The Arc Op Shop is a licensed day support program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as mental retardation and autism. This 9:00-2:00 Monday-Friday program provides educational, cultural, and social activities with a pre-vocation component in a safe, supported environment.

Description

The Arc of Harrionburg and Rockingham is a non-profit organization which advocates for and/or runs programs needed by individuals and families dealing with life-long disabilities associated with mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, and other developmental disabilities. Both The Arc administrative office and its most extensive community program (the Op Shop) are located in the Lucy F. Simms Center at the corner of Washington Street and Simms Avenue in northeast Harrisonburg.
