Mission Statement

Promoting self help amongst rural youth, elderly, and the destitute in order to bring about a sustainable livelihood through domesticated farm animals and their products, and the management and control of stray dogs.

Helping Organisation for People, Environment (HOPE) and Animal Trust is a non-governmental organisation working in Ranchi District of Jharkhand State, India. We are a small non profit group working for human beings and Animals for their welfare since year 2000. Now after 5 years of our hard work, we have developed our infrastructure at Khunti, which includes a Training Centre for rural community, an Animal Shelter with a Clinic and Operation Theatre. The shelter can house around 50 large animals apart from that our dog shelter can provide care for up to 40 stray dogs. Our main aim is to become self-sustainable so that we don't wait for funds when in need. Mainly our Animal hospital cum clinic would generate enough funds to carry on our activities unintruptedly. You would be surprise to know about the animal health services at the government clinics in the rural sector, one or two Vets for 150 villages. Many a times villagers had to come back empty handed and then their animals are always left to die without medicinal support/ care, which leads to the spreading of diseases amongst the other animals. Our Animal Hospital will be like God's gift for the rural community who can not bare the loss of animals, which earns bread and butter for their whole family. Our future plan also includes setting up a joint old age home, orphanage and animal shelter together, to give love, affection and companionship to each other.
