Mission Statement
The purpose of the Foundation is twofold:
to facilitate and fund integrated rural development and training programs in African countries, specifically focused on indigenous, grass-roots efforts; and
to educate and inform the American public about Africa and its people toward greater communication and understanding across national, ethnic, and religious boundaries.
Description
AFPF is a trailblazing philanthropic community investing in Africa and in groundbreaking education and leadership for women and girls. We do this through our partnership with Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme (URDT) and African Rural University (ARU).
URDT has engaged with marginalized people in rural Uganda for over 25 years to ignite mindset change and systems-wide transformation , "Awakening the sleeping genius in each of us."
African Rural University (ARU) for women is the cornerstone of URDT’s strategy to create a critical mass of rural transformation professionals, to advance university level development research, and to give rural communities influence in the national development process.
Let us connect you with people and institutions uplifting Africa!
