Mission Statement

The mission of the Natural Resources Department is to protect and conserve Manatee County's natural lands.

Description

Our organization manages 12 conservation properties throughout Manatee County including Emerson Point, Rye, Duette, Leffis Key, Riverview Pointe, and Robinson Preserves. Our activities include restoration of habitat (such as scrub and wetlands), elimination of invasive exotics, tracking and monitoring of wildlife, GPS mapping, land management through the use of prescribed burning, and public outreach and education.
