Mission Statement
Our Mission
Seed Business Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2003 by J. Andrew Leaf. Seed Business Network's mission is to use a holistic approach to help people with disabilities develop the social and life skills they need to be successful in business.
Andy Leaf, from his personal experience with a disability, recognizes the psychological and physical barriers to self-sufficiency that many disabled face. These barriers severely limit opportunities for people with disabilities to fully participate in the business world, be economically self-sufficient and better themselves and their communities.
Description
To help break down those barriers to gainful employment, we provide business life coaching, online entrepreneurial, personality and health assessment tools, and a comprehensive directory of over 250 relevant resources. Through the Business Life Coaching, the core of our current program, we provide consultations that help the consumer identify personality strengths and weaknesses and personal habits that affect their personal and business lives, evaluate their ability to apply appropriate skills to a particular situation, and identify life challenges to help them choose a path that will enrich their business experience.
Our new Online Business Community:
The goal of this program is to help provide a nurturing, safe environment for people with disabilities to explore, learn, network and achieve their business goals through an accessible online community.
Program Components:
Separate website for the Online Business Community -- online in June 2006.
Monthly live and pre-recorded business & health webinars led by professional coaches
Business-related blogs led by successful entrepreneurs with disabilities
Interactive workbooks & materials to supplement topics covered in webinars and blogs
Bulletin Board / listserv allows individuals in the online business community to freely communicate and support each other.
