Mission Statement
CWS works with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world.
Description
Church World Service is an international relief, development and refugee assistance agency of thirty-five Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican denominations in the U.S. Our mission is to confront hunger and its related injustices. We work to empower U.S. Christians and others to act by offering ecumenical and interfaith opportunities. In partnership with indigenous organizations in some 80 countries, CWS supports sustainable self-help development, meets emergency needs, and helps address the root causes of poverty and powerlessness. Within the U.S., Church World Service assists communities in responding to disasters, resettles refugees, promotes fair national and international policies, provides educational resources and offer opportunities to join a people to people network.
