Description
The Ogontz Avenue Revitalization Corporation (OARC) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) community development corporation established in 1983 to revitalize the Ogontz Plaza. OARC has been a catalyst for the revitalization of the entire West Oak Lane community. Today OARC's mission is to create and stimulate economic development and improve the quality of life in all of Northwest Philadelphia. This mission is carried out through the following initiatives: Housing & Real Estate Development, Greening/Open Space Beautification, Business & Economic Development, Arts & Cultural Programming, Tourism & Neighborhood Marketing, Education from Early Childhood through High School.
OARC is the Executive Producer of the annual West Oak Lane Jazz & Arts Festival. The festival will feature 3 days of non-stop music on 4 outdoor stages including WAR, Roy Ayers, Joey De Francesco, and Trudy Pitts. Other features include over 70 fine artists and craft vendors, a Jazz Fashion Show, a Vocal Workshop ) and Spoken Word. The festival is free.
