Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide support services individuals and families affected by lupus, increase awareness of and education about lupus among health professionals and the public, and to raise funds for research to find the causes and a cure for lupus.
Description
Our chapter is an independent non-profit affiliated with the Lupus Foundation of America. We provide resource support services, physician referral, support groups for lupus patients and their families, periodic newsletters with educational articles on lupus and updates on the latest research and clinical trials, and we provide LUPUS NOW national magazine. In addition, we work to increase awareness of lupus through many venues, including our speakers bureau. We also raise funds for research to find the causes and a cure for lupus.
Our Board of Directors is transitioning from a working board to a governing board and we are looking for professionals from a variety of fields to add their knowledge and expertice to our efforts.
