Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity of Teller County is working to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Description

Habitat for Humanity of Teller County is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

Our Teller County Affiliate has been building homes since 1999. We have built 27 homes so far.

Families must provide 300 to 400 hours of sweat equity and qualify to purchase the homes. They must have a qualifying credit score and an AMI of 30-60% of the local income bracket to qualify, and be a first time home buyer.
