Mission Statement

The Oriental Institute Museum is a showcase of the history, art, and archaeology of the ancient Near East. The museum is an integral part of the Oriental Institute, which has supported research and archaeological excavation in the Near East since 1919.

Description

Created in 1966, the Oriental Institute Volunteer Program provides a structured, comprehensive training program that enables a volunteer to attain knowledge and understanding of the historical, cultural, and archaeological importance of hte ancient Near East. Volunteers have the opportunity to lead tours, participate in outreach, attend exclusive lectures, assist faculty or staff, work in our gift shop, and much more!
