Mission Statement

Healing Hands for Haiti is dedicated to fostering the expansion and quality of rehabilitation services for the benefit of physically disabled adults and children in Haiti. We operate on the principle that the best way to serve the people of Haiti is to enable them to serve themselves-through direct treatment and education.

4 points of emphasis:

1) Rehabilitation education

3) Disability prevention

4) promote public awareness of disabilities and rehabilitation in Haiti

Description

We provide:

A fully equipped rehabiltation clinic, including:

Doctors' offices, Physical and Occupational Therapy gym, Pharmacy, Prosthetic shop, Durable medical equipment.

Medical services:

Hatian and International Physicians, Prosthetics/Orthotics, Occupational Therapists, Nursing Staff, Social Work/Case Managment, Surgery Program, Psychology, Speech Language Pathologists

Education programs:

One-week basic caregiver school, Nine-month rehabilitation functional therapy, Preventive and public health, School reintegration, Continuing medical education, Prosthetic training

Housing for medical teams, researchers, and adoptive parents.

Our volunteer teams pay there own travel expenses. These teams consist of Physicians, Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, Orthotists, Prosthestists, Translators, and support personnel who are experts in physical rehabilitation.
