The mission of the Division of Forestry is to protect Florida and its people from the dangers of wildland fire and manage the forest resources through a stewardship ethic to assure they are available for future generations.

Description

Volunteering for the Florida Division of Forestry is a fun and rewarding way to learn new skills and experience the out-of-doors. Our volunteers gain valuable experiences that are personally rewarding and challenging. As a volunteer you will receive on-the-job training and continuing education. Our classes are designed to acquaint volunteers with the following topics: fire prevention, forest ecology, interpretative techniques, nature trails, bird and other wildlife surveys and many more.As a member of the Division of Forestry's volunteer team you may work in either a rural or urban area or work in an office or in the forest. You choose to participate in either a one time event or a long-term project.
