Mission Statement

THE MAME ART AND MEDIA EDUCATION CENTER Mission Statement The MAME Center will help kids in poor areas of Ethiopia under the age of 25 years old through education and training in art and media technology. It will provide students two years training for a certificate in Commercial Media Art Technology. The MAME Center will provide valuable real world experience and resources to commercialize creative ideas and broaden career opportunities to build transferable skills necessary to succeed in life. TARGET â ¢ Teens â ¢ Young adults under 25 years old â ¢ School dropouts who want to have a career in the arts About the Mame Program The Mame Program will initially target (50) kids in the city of Nazareth, Ethiopia. The high quality course materials along with the extension supporters [volunteer] services will help to develop effective skills which will enable the target group to manage their lives. Students, while learning the technical aspects for this creative outlet, will also be given training on how to use their work to create a sustainable income. They will learn how to market and sell their work and/or how to find a job. They will learn to promote their work in different ways to attract buyers to their crafts. The Mame Program intends to expand into other regions of Africa with similar problems, using the Nazareth model as a pilot. 5 YEAR PROJECTION â ¢ Train Trainers â ¢ Service Commitment â ¢ Quality Control (Professionalism) â ¢ Sharing â creativity through children. Creating an outlet for self-expression. Set the stage for the future for the community with the objective of development of a program that can be used as a pilot on a global scale. â ¢ Develop fair-trade markets .Tourist office About Mame Mame was a mother to every one. She lived for her kids. She gave courage and hope to them and fed and took care of their needs. She lived with hope and faith. Her willingness to reach out to these lost kids, her sacrifice for and acceptance of them, her value of a human being's life, all these things let her blessings flow abundantly. Stories about her after her death provided inspiration and insight into how it was possible to help others in the tradition of Mame's good deeds.
