Senior Companion Program

Description

Many seniors lack transportation to essential medical appointments, to shop and/or to be able to participate in community social activities as they had in the past. They may be experiencing feelings of loneliness and depression due to increased physical limitations, having to give up driving or the loss of a spouse, family members or friends. The companionship of our volunteers not only helps address their immediate needs but provides them with a friend who can spend time to play cards, attend movies or just visit over a cup of coffee. Their dignity and self-worth greatly improve when someone shows that they care.
