Mission Statement

MISSION

Through community partnerships and education we will create opportunities of support for single parents in critical situations. The Crib empowers mothers and fathers to provide creatively, intellectually, emotionally and financially for themselves and their children in the long term. Our passion is to encourage and motivate single parents to achieve their dreams so they can inspire their children to do the same.

VISION

The Crib is intended to have a multi-generational impact. We envision a world where education, support and shelter are not luxuries, but rather opportunities available to every person; where the sense of possibility and wonderment that comes with childhood is alive for everyone.

Description

We have been in operation for 10 years, first in California, and then in Maryland. We have provided case management and support services to single parents in critical situations. We are in the process of redesigning our program to be a web based coaching program. Single parents will be partnered with professional coaches to work on their personal and professional goals. Coaching will take place on weekly phone calls, and the partnership between coach and client will last 1-2 years. Coaches will donate their time, and there will be no charge to clients, however the clients will donate one hour of their time in community service for each hour of coaching they receive.

The website will also contain content of interest to parents, including blogs, advice columns, message boards and links to articles on subjects including parenting, finance, health and wellness, etc.
