Mission Statement

Boston Money Management helps to maintain the independence and security of elderly and/or disabled Boston residents through bill-paying, budgeting, and related financial services provided by trained volunteers.

Description

The Boston Money Management Program (BMMP) is one of many such programs in Massachusetts and across the country whose goal is to help income-eligible elders or disabled persons who are having difficulty paying their basic bills such as food, rent, and utilities, or who may be at risk of eviction.

The BMMP is sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA), and Mass Home Care.

The BMMP provides two services depending on the client's needs: the Bill Payer Program and the Representative Payee Program. Both programs are staffed by voulunteers who are screened, trained, and supervised by the BMMP Coordinator
