MFH is a non-profit organization founded by Dr. Leo Lagasse in 1995. Our mission is to improve the health of women in uderserved populations by brining much needed medical care and creating sustainable programs of education, prevention and treatment. We seek to achieve these goals by:

Sending highly trained medical teams to provide critically needed on-site surgical training to local doctors and nurses

Assisting clinics and hospitals in developing sustainable programs for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of maternal birth injuries, lowering death rates, incidence of fistulas, pelvic organ injuries, and women's cancers.
