Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT The purpose of the Del Norte Nighthawks is to inspire youth, regardless of race, creed or national origin, to practice the ideas of scholarship, sportsmansh ip and physical fitness; to familiarize all players with the fundamentals of football and cheer, to provide an opportunity to participate in a supervised, organized and safety-oriented manner and to keep the welfare of participants free from any adult ambition and personal glory. It is our mission to provide a safe and positive environment to teach the fundamentals of the sports of football and cheer. In doing so, the Association and its members will instill in each participant the principles of dedication, hard work, community, honesty, scholastic achievement, teamwork and sportsmanship. Our programs teach fundamental values, skills and knowledge that children will use throughout their lives. SAFE PLAYING ENVIRONMENT DNYFC demands that all members of the organization put player safety first ahead of all other motivation. DNYFC provides the latest football and cheer equipment with player safety in mind. Players, p arents and g uardians are provided ongoing instruction on the proper fitting and usage of issued equipment. Our football players are matched in an age/grade based format which allows them to compete with their own peer group and avoid playing in an older but lighter (OBL) situation that can be dangerous. Our coaches are carefully selected and required to adhere to strict safety standards as set forth by American Youth Football and D el Norte Youth Football & Cheer. DNYFC promotes the value of physical fitness by staying active and involved with youth sports . SCHOLASTICS DNYFC is committed to promoting the importance of education and scholastic achievement. This program encourages and requires participants to perform well in school and practice leadership skills both in the classroom and on the field. DNYFC believes that learning is not limited to only players and therefore requires coaches and staff to attend safety training and instructional clinics. We are proud to be a part of the largest youth football community in the World - American Youth Football (AYF). AYF serves over one million members in all 50 states and serves several countries worldwide. AYF is proud to be a National Youth Partner of the NFL.
