Mission Statement

The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.

Description

Helping Atlanta's women, children and families since 1895. Founding members of the Genesis Shelter for homeless mothers and their newborns. Our literacy program matches volunteers with kindergarten through third grade children in 8 Title 1 elementary schools. We've provided local schools with backpacks and school supplies, a Mother's Day "shop", warm coats for winter and wonderful, trained literacy tutors. For almost 50 years, Bargainata has supplied Atlantans with high quality clothing, shoes, housewares and accessories.
