The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Department is to provide, protect and preserve a park system that promotes quality recreational, cultural and outdoor experiences for the Austin community.

Description

Roving Leader program goals for participants are the following:

- Youth preceive themselves as being involved in something meaningful

- Youth learn to access resources in order to avoid risky behaviors

- Providing experiences beyond the confines of the participants neighborhood

- Providing constructive activities
