The mission of Franklin County CASA, Inc. is to advocate for the best interests of all abused and neglected children under the protection of the Franklin County Juvenile Court, thus securing a safe and permanent home for all such children.
The Franklin County Court Appointed Special Advocate Program advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the Franklin County Juvenile Court in Franklin County, Missouri through the services of specially selected and highly trained community volunteers.
In order to ensure a safe and permanent home for all abused and neglected children under the protection of the Franklin County Juvenile Court as quickly and efficiently as possible, Franklin County CASA, Inc. trains and supports community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of all such children.
Every year, there are more than 200 hundred cases of abuse and neglect of children in the Franklin County area. These children are in need of safe, permanent, and nurturing homes. That's where Franklin County CASA, Inc. becomes involved. The National CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive. It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every abused and neglected child who needs one.
