The organization’s mission is to form a partnership to improve access to education for children with learning disabilities; develop, empower and support children and youth with learning disabilities and mental health problems to have every opportunity to succeed in school, work and life through advocacy, education, training services, support research, psychological therapy & counseling; career guidance & counseling and art therapy as well as transition support.

Description

Campaign For Learning Disabilities (CLED) is a non-profit organization based in Kasoa, in Ghana. It became operational late 2011 and was incorporated and registered as a company limited by guarantee with the Registrar General Department of Ghana under the companies code of 1963 Act 179 on 24th July, 2012 and has been recognized as a voluntary organization with the Department of Social welfare, Ghana.We work towards raising awareness and knowledge of learning disability and mental health both in local schools, teacher training colleges and in the wider community. We also train basic schools teachers whose professional training often did not include learning disabilities and mental health as well as also work with the families of children with learning disabilities to raise awareness of the difficulties and to support them in the care of their children.
