Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The purpose of the Center for Hope and Safety (f.k.a. Mid-Valley Women's Crisis Service) is to provide a safe environment for survivors of violence and to educate the public about the issues surrounding victimization. Advocates representing a cross-section of the community join together to operate programs that respond directly to needs identified by survivors of violence. Agency philosophy reflects the survivors' right to receive information about abuse and their right to make their own choices from a wide range of options.
Volunteers and staff provide a safe place and supportive services for survivors of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse regardless of race, color, creed, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. Services emphasize information sharing, education, safety, and support. CHS provides: a 24-hour crisis intervention hotline; information on abuse related issues; outreach and referral to appropriate resources and community agencies; advocacy; 24-hour shelter services which include housing, food, clothing, emergency transportation; support groups; and community education.
