Description

California Parenting Institute (CPI) is a non-profit FAMILY RESOURCE AGENCY founded in 1978 with comprehensive programs for children and families in Sonoma County. These programs include parent education and support as well as mental health services for children and their families. Services include: parenting classes, supervised visits for families separated by divorce or child protection interventions, a car seat education and safety program, literacy programs, in-home visits, interactive classes for parents and toddlers, a comprehensive fathers program, mental health services for children and families who have been victims of violence or have witnessed violence as well as non-crisis telephone Warmline. CPI is actively involved in the community with programs that address the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

Our guiding principles are:

· We see the relationship between programs and families as one of respect through which growth and change can occur.

· Our programs are community based and offer a bridge between families and other social services in the community.

· Participation in CPI programs and seeking support and/or information is viewed as a family strength, not as an indication of deficits or problems.
