Mission Statement

NAMI Marin is an affiliate of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI has more than 1000 local affiliates dedicated to advocacy, education and support. Founded in 1979, NAMI is a non-profit organization that provides a nation-wide network of families working to improve research, treatment and understanding, as well as advocating for adequate health insurance, housing and employment.

Description

NAMI Marin provides information on the availability of mental health and other services in Marin County and advice in accessing them. We provide education and support as well as programs on subjects of interest to families and clients. Our meetings and support groups provide the opportunity for families to talk with others in similar situations and receive information and support. We also work with clients to provide activities that encourage social interaction and support independence. For a modest membership fee, NAMI Marin also provides an informative newsletter. All NAMI Marin programs are free and open to the public.
