Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide a place for fully ordained Buddhist nuns to live. The nuns, bhikkhunis, study the teachings of the Buddha and strive to realize the goal of the holy life, awakening.

The bhikkhunis teach meditation and impart the teachings of the Buddha to interested persons. When aspirants to monastic life apply for residence they may receive training leading to ordination if they are accepted as candidates for ordination.

Our order is the Theravada order, the oldest surviving order of Buddhist monasticism.

Description

We need volunteers who would like to shop for groceries, cook, offer the food to the bhikkhunis, make purchases for the monastery. The monastery receives donations which can be used by the volunteer to buy groceries, and supplies.
