Description
The Keeler Women's Center is a ministry of the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica. Our mission is to empower women in the urban core through education, advocacy, personal and spiritual development. Three Benedictine sisters staff the Center. By using more than 70 volunteers each month and partnering with many individuals and organizations, the center provides a wide variety of programs and services for approximately 350 women, 20 men and 25 children each month.
All programs and services are free although we ask for a donation from those who receive counseling services (but we never bill). Programs and services include support groups, parenting classes, education and support for women dealing with domestic violence or addictions, support for those seeking employment, spiritual direction, nutrition classes, retreats, massage etc. Regular offerings include the "Holy Women" series, financial literacy classes, an Affirmations growth group, as well as basic literacy classes and Easy English for women wanting to learn English, and the "Women Writers" group. We also partner with MOCSA to provide a support group and counseling in Spanish for women who are survivors of sexual assault.
Our programs change depending on volunteers so we encourage you to visit our website at www.keelerwomenscenter.org
