Mission Statement

ProjectArt's mission is to unleash the power of creativity in every child and change the way the world values arts education.

Description

Using arts education as the primary vehicle to facilitate creative place-making, ProjectArt transforms public libraries into vital cultural hubs that highlight local assets, spur rejuvenation and serve common needs of minority, immigrant and outer-borough communities. By holding free year-round visual art classes for youth with curriculums that are reflective of their traditions and community and by celebrating their work through exhibitions, we create a ripple effect of cultural engagement and community-building.

The student exhibit event was wonderful in many ways. One of which is that it display the creations young minds on their development towards artistic perspective. It also gave youth volunteers a experience of providing community with their dedicated service. Everyone in this organization are very nice people.

I really enjoyed volunteering for ProjectArt. Not only is the cause close to my heart, but the people in the organization are very nice, organized and easy to work with. They are extremely responsive to questions and suggestions and genuinely want to make the difference in lives of children through art. Their student art exhibition is a magical moment where the children get to show off their work to proud parents and friends. They come from all five boroughs for this day. I highly recommend getting involved with this group.
