Mission Statement

The mission of the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center, in partnership with local schools, families, and our community, is to enable students to become socially responsible citizens who are productive and competent lifelong learners. Our ultimate goal is for all our students to become high school graduates.

Description

A Christ-centered organization, the Center provides children ages 6-13 with tutoring, mentoring, Bible classes, life skills, health and fitness exercise, and meals outside of school and on weekends. The Center is unaffiliated with any outside organization or church, and welcomes students of all faiths and beliefs. Additionally, the Center offers gardening and music rehearsals in an effort to wholly engage the varying interest of the children we receive.

The Center uses a multi-faceted approach to affect cultural change through programs based on child development statistics from across the country. There are five main areas of focus that the Center seeks to help these children accomplish:

  • Homework, Reading, and Math
  • Mentoring
  • Health & Fitness
  • Bible
  • Gardening
