Description

Companions For Life was formed to fill the most obvious and significant gaps in the animal welfare movement in our community - humane education and shelter outreach. Humane education is essential to building a society that places significant value on the role of companion animals. It is a vital component of character education and violence-prevention and encourages a culture of respect and compassion. Through partnerships with school districts, parks and recreation departments, pet-related businesses, and other community service organizations, we'll educate both children and adults about a variety of humane issues such as animal overpopulation, animal cruelty, proper pet care, animal safety, and more. Shelter outreach will provide those folks - Shelter outreach will provide those shelter workers, rescue group volunteers, animal control officers, veterinarians, kennel managers, and animal welfare professionals - the folks on the front line in the humane movement - with the tools they need to do their jobs, to meet their goals, to improve their standing in their community, and to earn the respect and admiration the deserve. Our shelter outreach programs will provide unlimited access to the resources they need 24/7 through out Rescue Resources website. We'll also partner with local businesses to bring experts in current events and shelter-related subjects to our area to speak directly to the staff and volunteers of area welfare agencies.
