I did try to volunteer to this organization. My opinion, is the concept of the program is a great one, but I question why this program is in existence. Both my daughter and I have experience working with children with all types of disabilities, some of them emotional. We were side walkers for the horse, and also side walkers for the child at another facility. Marley's Mission, first of all, very difficult to get any contact or communication with. Then when you finally do, they tell you that it will cost you $50.00 per person, which would be $100.00 for my daughter and I together, for a background check. Why should we have to pay for a background check when we are giving our time and experience for free. You must be kidding. I do not recommend, and if this was a problem, had we been sucked into this organization, what else would I find out that would be unethical or inappropriate????
