To be the leader in ending hunger and alleviating poverty through individual commitment and partnerships. Create a working environment where we provide, with integrity and respect, consistently high quality service to all our partners. We will accomplish this by: -Ensuring that all products available for donation reach the Food Bank and are distributed judiciously to our member programs. - Practicing responsible stewardship. - Actively participating in the community to increase awareness of hunger and poverty and set a standard for excellence in service to others. - Providing opportunities for our employees through staff training and development.
The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, located in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY is part of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in Latham, NY and a member of Feeding America, the national food bank network.
The Food Bank distributes food to over 400 feeding programs from its 55,000 square foot warehouse in the Hudson Valley. The feeding programs that receive this food consist of food pantries, soup kitchens, rehabilitation programs, homeless shelters, day care centers, and senior citizen programs. Last year the Food Bank distributed over 16 million pounds of food in six counties - Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, Dutchess, Putnam and Rockland County.
