Mission Statement

St. Joseph Home, creates a home for children and adults who have significant/profound developmental disabilities. The Home, a non-profit ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, offers a creative, loving environment for those in the residential and respite programs. Attention to the individual's medical, social, educational and spiritual development reveals the uniqueness of each person. Compassionate care and respect for the dignity of life are the hallmarks of St. Joseph Home.

St. Joseph Home's Residential Program serves 48 children and adults who have complex medical needs and is the only agency in Hamilton County of its kind. Our residents enjoy a quality of life that includes daily activities such as swimming in the Home's therapy pool, arts and crafts, special guest entertainment, outings, school, and an adaptive playground; all with the assitance of staff and volunteers.

The Adult Day Program provides recreational and leisure activities with a focus on sensory awareness, communication skills and community integration. Compassionate one-on-one time is highly valued for growth and stimulation.

The Harold C. Schott Respite Center provides short term care to special needs children and adults. Respite guests stay fro two to fourteen days and receive 24/7 care in a bright, homelike environment within the Respite cottage.

St. Joseph Community Home provides residential services for four adults with developmental disabilities in a state of the art home where residents receive the maximum level of support they need so that they are valued by, and belong to and fully participate in their community.

St. Joseph Home's Residential Program, Harold C. Schott Respite Center, and Community Home are located on 33 acres in Sharonville, OH. Our Adult Day Program is located in Blue Ash, OH.

I loved the volunteer process that St. Joseph Home offered as it was simple to complete in a safe, virtual manner. I also strongly agree with St. Joseph Home's mission statement/community goals and truly felt like I had made a difference after completing my volunteering activity!
