Companions For Children, Inc.

Companions for Children, Inc. is a community-based mentoring program that provides a one-to-one relationship between a caring responsible adult and a child in the Minot area from a single parent family.

Since 1972, Companions for Children has provided hundreds of children and adults with friendships. These friendships have helped many children through the most challenging and crucial times of their lives. In many cases, the relationships have blossomed into lifelong friendships between the children and the volunteers.

A recent scientific study found that youth who meet regularly with a mentor are less likely to use drugs and alcohol, are less violent, do better in school, and get along better with family members than children who do not have a mentor.
