THE CONGREGATION EMANU-EL

MISSION STATEMENT

The Congregation Emanu-El is dedicated to advancing lifelong involvement in Judaism guided by Jewish values.

The Congregation Emanu-El is a focal point for Reform Jewish life, centered upon the responsibility to fulfill mitzvot, study Torah and participate in the worship of God.

We do this by:

n responding to the challenges of being Jewish in our time by upholding the core value of the individual's ability to choose the manner of his/her religious identification and expression

n providing access and resources to all Jews who seek to nurture and renew their faith

n providing pastoral care for our members

n embracing K'lal Yisrael (Unity of the Jewish Community) through strengthening our link to worldwide Jewry and the State of Israel

n articulating and responding to the call for social justice through Tikkun Olam--"Healing of a Broken World"

n providing resources and support for interfaith families

n providing lifelong innovative Jewish education and cultural activities that reinforce the positive, empowering elements of Jewish life and history

n sustaining the physical presence of our landmark Temple.
