Alta Bates Summit Asian Outreach Program

Description

The Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Asian Outreach Program develops programs to expand the Medical Center's services to the Asian Community. We provide preventative health education and outreach to diverse Asian communities in the East Bay through health lectures and screenings. We also provide access to free, bilingual health education materials at our Health Resource Center located in the Pacific Renaissance Plaza in Oakland's Chinatown. Our Asian Volunteer Program provides limited-English speaking inpatients the comfort of conversing with someone in their own language and having a patient advocate when necessary. Our program directly affects the Asian community members we serve by educating, and therefore, empowering them to advocate for the health and well-being of themselves and their families.
