Mission Statement

Voolla's mission is to reinvent volunteering and the way people give to charities. We enable skilled volunteers to donate their services, which are hired by businesses and the public in exchange for a fee that is then donated to the charity of their choice.

Description

Voolla was conceived by Stephanie Downs in 2008 when a friend asked her to help with a brochure for a new organization he was starting. Instead of charging a fee, she suggested that he donate the project fee to a charity that they both supported. He loved getting the work he needed done AND helping a charity. Voolla provides a revolutionary way to give. It's a new currency. It takes valuable volunteer skills and turns them into real money for charities. Everyone has a talent. People spend money to hire people with talent. Charities need money. And now Voolla brings them all together. Voolla was founded in 2011 and granted 501c3 status in 2012.
