Mission Statement
Mission
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Description
The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) - incorporated on February 18, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916 - is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build desirable qualities of character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.
Since 1930, the BSA has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting. Cub Scouting is a character building institution that embraces the values of citizenship, compassion, cooperation, courage, faith, health and fitness, honesty, perserverance, positive attitude, resourcefulness, respect, and responsibility.
Boys and young adults have fun and experience high adventure.
